NW STING FOOTPRINT

Northwest Sting Baseball was established in 2007, with the goal of providing ball players and families with a genuine baseball experience.

Northwest Sting is committed to exposing ball players to lessons beyond the field, emphasizing building relationships, strong academics, and community involvement.

NW STING is a program where players know their value beyond their stats. We hope after ball players complete their careers with Sting, they know they were cared for, valued, and appreciated for dedicating their time to our organization.

STING PHILOSOPHY

Fall in Love with the “Boring” Reps

• Good habits are built through the work nobody sees. When players learn to take pride in early mornings and repetitive drills, they stop being defined by outcomes and start being defined by discipline.

Focus on Effort, Not Just Outcomes

• You can’t always control the scoreboard—but you can control your work rate, preparation, and intent. Winning the right way means walking off the field knowing shortcuts were never an option.

Celebrate Small Wins

• Progress happens daily. We acknowledge the discipline it takes to show up, the consistency to stay committed, and the moment a difficult skill finally clicks. Those moments matter.

Integrity Is the Foundation

• Winning without integrity is empty. Hard work earns trust, credibility, and the moral authority to lead. It also creates the quiet confidence that tells a player: I belong here.

Northwest Sting is a positive, energetic, and competitive environment where coaches and ball players are excited to connect and compete together.

We LOVE winning, but our priority is on the process and work ethic it takes to create a championship attitude in life, not just on the field.

Northwest Sting teams have won local, regional, and national tournaments, but we know the bonds created while players laugh, struggle, and compete together are the memories that will last a lifetime.

WHY I STARTED NW STING

My name is Dashawn Patrick, and I’m excited to share, with you, my passion for baseball and why I started NW STING.

2007

I officially started NW Sting in 2007, but the vision has lived in my heart since I was a young ball player growing up in Ballard. Seattle is where I fell in love with baseball, and my goal has always been to give back by creating a baseball environment where kids and families can share lasting memories and relationships that extend beyond the ball field.

I was eight years old when I fell in love with baseball. From that moment on, baseball became an integral part of my life. This amazing game has taken me places and introduced me to people I might have never met otherwise: from playing stickball in the streets of Ballard with neighborhood friends, to being selected by the Seattle Mariners in the MLB Draft where the Mariners paid for my education at the University of Washington.

The discipline, work ethic, dedication, and passion of realizing my dream of becoming a professional baseball player began as an eight-year-old kid in Seattle who fell in love with a bat, a mat, and a ball.

Baseball is my DAY 1, and I am so blessed to share my love of this game with the Seattle community!
